It Was Meant To Be
An ongoing long-term project, initiated in 2017, that seeks to uncover the intimate story of a male-to-female transition. A transformation that goes beyond physical change, delving into the slow, personal, and often uncertain journey of self-discovery and the challenge of navigating everyday life.
Through an immersion in Alexis' daily life, the project reminds us that trans people are not just drag performers or headlines, they are workers, friends, neighbours, and citizens, living lives marked by both struggle and simplicity. It invites us to connect with personal moments of uncertainty and pain, as well as moments of joy, success, and beauty.
It offers a unique perspective on a transition that proves to be more natural and ordinary than we might initially assume.
